Travel Law Fee Earner/Manager (Holiday Claims)

Due to continued success and expansion, we are looking to recruit an experienced Fee Earner to join our Travel department involving dealing with accidents and suffered illness whilst on holiday abroad.

It is expected that the Solicitor/ Legal Executive will undertake fee-earning work to achieve agreed financial targets within our team. The ideal candidate will bring in their wealth of experience and technical know-how on assisting in the development of the Travel department.

Remuneration package will include a profit share derived from the departments profit costs. This is a great opportunity for an experienced Fee Earner to enter into a growing firm.

Requirements:

  • At minimum 12 months experience dealing with Travel Law matters
  • At minimum 12 months experience dealing with Fast Track and Multi-track matters
  • Ability to effectively manage own caseload with a track record of settling files
  • Possess excellent negotiation skills
  • Ability to work with and achieve income targets on a consistent basis
  • Ability to work to strict deadlines
  • Ability to manage and lead a team of Fee Earners (desirable but not essential)
  • Ability to assist with the day-to-day running of the practice (desirable but not essential)
  • Good working knowledge of essential computer applications such as Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Have an ability to plan and prioritise own workload
  • Ability to work from own Task List via our internal management system
  • Good people skills for teamwork and building relationships with co-workers and clients
  • Good written and spoken communication skills are essential

Key Responsibilities:

  • To handle a caseload of fast-track travel cases from beginning to end, focussing on illness claims, with work funded on a CFA and BTE basis
  • Monitoring and report on client retention rates & ensure fast turn around
  • Ensuring cases are settled profitably
  • Undertaking risk-assessments and deal with enquiries where required
  • Maintaining high standards in the processing of client work, both in respect of professional standards and client care
  • Maintaining good professional working relationships with external institutions and organisations
  • Through training and other means, keep fully up to date with relevant legislation and practice
  • Promoting and participate in marketing activities whether on a firm wide, departmental or office basis
  • Ensuring the confidentiality and security of all firm and client documentation and information
  • Possess strong knowledge and experience of Travel and Holiday Law, including procedural and practical skills desirable but not essential
